Construction work on the 22,580ft² building began in 2021. Designed by architects 5Plus. Buro Happold was initially appointed by Faithful & Gould to support the design and development of the scheme through the planning process and funding application.
The project has seen development of the brief, prepared design proposals, and obtained planning permission for a new build research and development space within the wider, Salford Crescent and University masterplan. The ‘Innovation Centre’ will sit within the university’s new high-tech ‘innovation district.’
A ground-breaking event has been held to celebrate Morgan Sindall Construction beginning work at the University of Salford’s North of England Robotics Innovation Centre (NERIC).
