The Challenge
Datatecnics approached our experts to support them with the design of a senor installation robot. This would increase efficiency, traceability and consistency whilst also stopping their staff from working in dangerous areas.
The Solution
NERIC had a set of skills that complimented Datatecnics’ engineering and industry-specific knowledge. These skills covered areas such as market research and robotics design. Once their requirements had been completely understood, NERIC identified several systems in the market that performed similar tasks and incorporated them into an original, novel design. This design evolved through regular discussions and design reviews, resulting in a prototype model for the company. Datatecnics are now able to have more detailed, practical discussions with their customers and funders to increase confidence in their ability to deliver a marketable robot. When the roll-out is complete, the company will have access to a variety of new markets and customers. The additional revenue stream will grow the company allowing them to employ additional staff in Salford and across their network. The company are now equipped with knowledge in robotics and automation that can be deployed in future projects.
